Quiet Reflections and Prayers
In a moment,
I decided to trust
just a little more
in my own experience —
just to see
what it would be like
to connect with a deeper me.
And so began
the most natural movement
as one by one
and without a thought,
I set down all that had seemed
so impossible
and so heavy
for so long
and this one moment began
to flow into the next.
And though there was still pain,
I knew that I was
forever changed
and would never be lost.
I learned the value
of an open heart
through my own willingness
to walk straight through
whatever appeared —
to hold and release
all things,
to honor all emotions
and experiences —
to lead them always
safely
back into love.
I wondered
what it would be like
to walk my own path,
to trust beyond trust —
to sink deeper
into this life.
And though it meant
holding all I was taught
to push through,
I held.
And I walked.
There is a magical place
in-between healing
and wholeness
where there is space —
where subtle shifting occurs
and everything flows together
in the most natural way.
And so,
with each step,
I vowed
to continue on
in search of a gentler way.
I knew there was
no going back,
nor was there some
far away mark to reach.
It was, in fact,
just this.
I have no words
for what has happened
to my heart.
There are no words
for the quiet kind
of joy —
having found just enough
courage,
just the right hands,
and the pure determination
to walk straight through
all that was illusion
into all that is true.
With each courageous step,
I found myself
a little lighter —
a little freer —
not free from pain,
but free of my own
struggling mind —
free to be
a little more
of what is most
purely me.
It happened slowly
at first
as each little part
of me
began to trust
to meet me
in this place
in-between
thoughts and words
and forms,
where it had seemed
a little scary.
Slowly and then
a little less slowly,
one by one —
I met them here
as they were,
as I am —
in this quiet place
within our deepest hearts.
And so I dared
to trust,
to take the leap
back to my purest Self.
And because there was
really nothing left
to do —
I simply held on
to each little piece
of me.
And I thought
as I was falling
that this must be
what it feels like
to be free.
