Quiet Reflections and Prayers
Let me always remember
the peace I found
in following my own heart,
in holding each tiny piece
of a me that could
never be broken,
in beginning to listen
just a little deeper —
listening with my heart
instead of just my mind
and all of its endless figuring out
and questioning.
Let me remember instead
this joy of reconnecting
with the tiny pieces
of this life
without needing
to fit them together
all at once.
I found peace
in the quiet moments
of true connection
within my own heart
and in the world —
where this connection
and whatever my heart revealed
in its own quiet way
was always just enough
and just right.
On the journey
into my own shattered heart,
just below
all of the unanswered questions,
I found
that what I had believed to be
something terribly wrong
with me
had been a mirage,
a reflection
of what was not just in me,
but in all of us.
And I found there was
really nothing particularly special
about me either,
except for the persistent symptoms
that urged me to keep listening
a little more deeply
and the desire to find
some way to reflect
the peace and wisdom
and hope
hidden underneath
all that was untrue.
Thank you
for showing up
and for just being you.
The world is a little more
beautiful and magical
because you’re here.
Happy birthday, dear friend. Thank you for being here.
This note is also for all of us and all of our little parts. We are part of a bigger story. And each little part is important. I’m glad we’re all here!

I found healing
not somewhere off in the distance,
waiting at the end of
years of learning,
but in the moment
I trusted my own steps
and felt the unconditional love
of my own healer self
I offer my love
and acceptance
to my own experience
as it is —
a sacred gesture
of peace
and transformation.
At times,
it was difficult
to trust
the unfolding
of my own path.
But I always found,
with each new step —
the resolve
to just keep going.
Whenever things feel to be
a little too much,
I remember
how I found I could
step back
and reset with my soul.
And so I listen
to whatever shows up
right in front of me —
as a prayer.
I hold what is here with love
as I am also held with this same love.
I am love.
I am healer.
I honor the sacred journey.
