Something Beautiful

November 30, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

With a quiet thought,

a subtle brush

with grace,

I vowed to continue on —

to hold

and to let go

of each experience

with love,

no matter how painful,

for as long as it took —

until it was transformed

into something beautiful.

Within This Loving Embrace

November 29, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

I dared all of me

to be still

for a moment —

to hear my own

true voice —

to know the peace

in this place

where nothing is added

or made better —

where all is blended

gently and magically within

this loving embrace.

Just Fine

November 29, 2015March 25, 2016 Laurie's Notes

I allowed

for a little more quieting,

a settling back

into my own being —

right here,

just below the surface

where I have always been

just fine —

just as I am.

Quieting

November 28, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

I found I could

quiet my soul —

holding a little longer

in the places

I once feared —

reaching a little further

than I ever dreamed —

finding my deepest comfort

in my own unmended heart.

From A Quiet Prayer

November 24, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

For a while,

I longed for this life

to be neatly sorted —

for a day

when all was resolved.

And then somehow,

from a quiet prayer,

I found I had surrendered

a little more deeply

and stepped out

of my own way.

I had become one

with this life,

in all of its messiness

and all of the subtle beauty

I almost missed.

In Pure Faith

November 23, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

When we reach

the place where words

can’t go,

when the way is unclear again,

I will stand firmly.

And I will keep walking.

I will trust

in this life

and find comfort

in the remembrance

of each step taken

in pure faith.

When All Is Surrendered

November 16, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

And so,

having found more questions

than answers,

I continued on.

And I found myself

in a state of prayer —

the kind of praying

that happens when there are

no more words

to recall

or share

or remember —

when all is surrendered

to the purest,

highest good.

Whispers of Love

November 14, 2015March 26, 2016 Laurie's Notes

I began to listen

to the quiet whispers

of love

in my own heart.

And I learned

I could, in fact,

quiet my own thoughts,

not by trying,

but by naturally resetting

and listening

to my own true voice

in all of my experiences.

Tucked Safely Within

November 13, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

May we trust

in the purity

of love.

And may we be

tucked safely within

our deepest hearts.

Amen.

Whispered Prayers

November 9, 2015February 14, 2016 Laurie's Notes

When the world begins

to feel like too much again,

when we can’t sort

all of the pieces

of our own hearts,

I will whisper a quiet prayer

and dream.
