One Tiny Prayer

Reflections December 18, 2015

And so I held on,

watching for a sign

that this world

had not yet forgotten

the sound of its own

true voice.

And as I waited

beneath the noise

and distractions,

my heart let go

of one tiny prayer —

that it might

find its way

to another heart

that had run out of words

before we ran out of hope.
