Quiet Reflections and Prayers
What I found
wasn’t a perfectly
sorted life
resulting from
a neatly packaged
set of how to
do it.
It was,
to be honest,
the small moments
along a messy journey
connecting me
with those who
had found
that something deeper —
reminding me
to keep going
until I found them —
helping me to
notice them
once I did.
What a funny thing
to realize there was
really nothing
to piece together
or figure out
or search for
so deeply.
I only had to
to find courage
to stop all that trying.
I return
in silent reverence
to this quiet place
tucked away within
my heart,
where there is sadness,
where there is pain —
pain that can’t be labeled
or spoken —
tears left behind in
exchange for
the longing to return —
knowing the power
of standing still
and the sacredness
of the journey back.
