When you reach
a quiet place
and there is sadness,
when the world seems
a little too intense again,
close your eyes
and remember
the softness of your soul.

Quiet Reflections and Prayers
When you reach
a quiet place
and there is sadness,
when the world seems
a little too intense again,
close your eyes
and remember
the softness of your soul.
— Laurie, What’s Right Here
No longer bound
by outdated ideas
of how life should be,
I began to show up
in a gentler way —
seeing above
my own limited view —
slipping out
of projections
and old patterns —
making the best
of the pieces
I had to work with
in each moment —
remembering
the sacredness of life
and finding respite
in the middle of
the most chaotic of times.
And so
life continued on —
with all of its
ups and downs
and winding story lines.
But I never forgot
or let go
of the peace I had found
at its core.
