I learned how to
walk through difficult
times.
I learned to
alter my perspective,
shift my own
emotions,
and focus my
attention.
I learned to heal
the present
and the past —
because I dared
to listen
to the quiet prayer
within my heart.
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
I learned how to
walk through difficult
times.
I learned to
alter my perspective,
shift my own
emotions,
and focus my
attention.
I learned to heal
the present
and the past —
because I dared
to listen
to the quiet prayer
within my heart.
There was a quality
of persistence
joined with self-restraint
needed to ride
subtle energies
that led to a deepening
inner peace.
Quiet prayers
and increasing desire
to know my own
soul voice
just a little more
intimately
carried me gently
as I continued on.
The more I explored
being with myself
in a new way,
the more I
understood what it was
I was noticing.
It wasn’t the surface
details so much.
I had allowed those
to blur a bit.
It was my own
essence I began
to notice.
It didn’t have
words.
It was subtle
at first.
But I found I could
focus on what was
most healed
in me.
And somehow,
ever so gently,
outer experiences
began to meet
the essence
of my own deepest
heart.
Thank you
for all things
reflecting the sweetness
of the connection
with my own deepest
heart.
Thank you also
for all things
along this path
that have challenged me,
adding to the
tenderness of the journey
and lighting
a fire of courage
to become a little more
free.
Thank you
for courage to set
these things
down.
Amen
I hold
what is here
with love —
the natural unfolding,
this clear space,
the reverence —
all of this,
including all that is
painful and confusing.
Even as I feel
the shifting ground
beneath me,
I accept and love
all of it
as it is —
right here.
I know these arms
have held
the indescribable pain
of separateness,
reaching inward
and through —
daring to hold
ALL of the pieces
of their own
shattered heart
even before it was
clear they were
not broken —
because somewhere,
underneath the confusion,
a quiet prayer was
whispered.
I found that
what was most
important
was my willingness
to show up
to meet whatever
showed up
in each new
moment
with fresh eyes —
holding, honoring
and letting go.
I realized healing
could be
beautiful and
gentle —
a sacred journey.
And so
I came to this
clear space
in my heart
where I could be
with myself
in a different way —
where I could
listen
for my true voice
that was always
with me —
where I could find
comfort
and connection.
Thank you,
inner healer,
for always being
as you are —
your gentle way
softly calling me
closer to the center
of my heart.
Amen
I found
it was possible
to keep my focus
on the deepening
connection with my
inner knowing
that guided me.
Things and people
showed up
as support
and confirmation
of my own inner
process.
There was
relief
in no longer needing
to become more
tangled up
in past traumas,
future uncertainties,
or present
challenges.
I continued on —
feeling more deeply
beneath the surface
for the next
needed step —
reaching ahead
and behind —
holding, honoring,
and releasing
every experience
and daring
to be still —
to listen
and to act
out of the sacred space
within my deepest
heart.
