I found I could,
in any moment,
reset to the quiet
within.
And all of the pieces
of my heart began
to trust and return
to the natural flow
of love remembered.
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
I found I could,
in any moment,
reset to the quiet
within.
And all of the pieces
of my heart began
to trust and return
to the natural flow
of love remembered.
All of the pieces
of my heart
were quieted —
just enough
so that I could
hear my own true voice
and be free.
I continued to hold
the places in me
that needed quieting.
And instead of trying
to remember or share
all I had learned,
I reminded myself
of this quiet place
in my heart —
once only a whisper.
Because I had held
all that was difficult
in my own heart,
I continued on —
seeing all that surrounded me
with a little softer focus,
honoring its unfolding
and returning to silence.
I vowed to hold my ground,
to keep my focus
within my heart
no matter what appeared.
And though the contrast
was sometimes intense,
I never let go
of what I found to be
most true
until all else
faded away —
naturally.
I return
to the silence
within my heart
in gratitude
for each word,
each gentle thought
that forms,
each piece of truth
that finds its way
back here.
This is where
I place my attention:
now —
this sacred space
once forgotten.
— Laurie Whitesel, Healer of My Own Heart; A Journey into Wholeness
On a gentle breeze,
a whisper
in the wind,
a bit of color —
muted,
I return
to this life
as a prayer.
And so my heart whispered
of the long roads
on the surface
and the harsh reality
of being in a healing world.
How far I would go
was up to me.
The choice was clear.
But I came
to go all the way —
to meet it
at the core.
When the outer world
became louder
and trying to speak
over the noise
was not helpful,
I held on
to the space within my heart
and to the quiet prayers
it whispered.
I return
to this experience
with honor,
knowing it is enough
to hold this moment
of life —
of which I am
a part.
