Continuing On

A Little Deeper Down

In place of

the disconnect

and old dialogues

that used to happen,

all that was

in support of

the deepest kind

of healing

began to rise up.

Old wounds were

honored,

not acted out —

not sifted through.

There was a

new network

of support —

firmly held in place

from a little deeper

down.

Unsorted

Bittersweet

There was a tenderness

in returning

to the quiet place

in our hearts,

a bittersweet

vow to honor

and release

all that had been

denied

and pushed down

or covered up —

when what had

been seen as

so obvious

in the heart

could not be communicated

on the surface,

not directly,

and my own deepest pain

became triggered.

And so the challenge

became holding

all I knew

to be sacred,

no matter how

it appeared on

the surface —

reaching and joining

with others

who longed to find

a way to continue

to stand

in our hearts

and in a healing world —

holding a space

of compassion

beyond understanding

and finding a gentler way

for us all.

From A Quiet Prayer, Unsorted

A Quieting

I eventually chose

healing above

all else.

I chose to use

every experience,

without exception,

as a stepping stone

to the place

of neutrality —

where there was

a quieting,

a letting go –

a reconnection

and resetting —

where clear thought,

and actions

could arise.

And I found

each moment

of reconnection

far outweighed

anything I had tried

in its place.

From A Quiet Prayer

From Here

With each new challenge,

I scanned

my surroundings

as we do

when we begin

to feel unsettled —

reaching for

the strongest healers —

holding firmly

within.

And I was reminded

each time

of the deepening calm

within my own heart.

And though it ached

for the parts of us

that were afraid

and the places

that remained

unhealed,

I was so thankful

to be able to hold

all of it —

to offer my piece —

to be connected

with this place —

to scan my surroundings

once more

to find

my firmest support

within my own heart

and yours.
