I began to listen
to the world around me
and to my own heart,
simultaneously.
And though the words
seemed slow
to describe this
natural process,
I found myself
trusting in its power
and moving
a little more gracefully
from this place.
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
I began to listen
to the world around me
and to my own heart,
simultaneously.
And though the words
seemed slow
to describe this
natural process,
I found myself
trusting in its power
and moving
a little more gracefully
from this place.
I hold this space
in my heart
for healing.
I vow to stand
in my fear —
to follow in the steps
of my own heart —
to love
beyond hope
simply because it is
my nature to love —
to offer my deepest
silent prayer
to us all —
to be this living prayer
beyond words
in this moment
and the next —
to remember
and repeat the words
How could I not?
Amen
I believe
healing can be
beautiful and gentle —
magical even.
Let us always
remember the power
of one quiet prayer.
Amen
Because I had felt
the subtle shifting
at the bottom
of my heart
and noticed
its reflection
outside of me,
I continued on —
keeping my focus
in my heart —
whispering,
feeling,
and being
that same quiet prayer
I had followed
so long ago —
when it was
all that was left.
This pain
you feel
is not separate
from the pain of
the world.
But it does not
define who or what
or where you are.
You must keep
searching.
Don’t look only
for relief
or some explanation
or label
to describe
what is on the surface.
Don’t look
to the world
for this.
You may find
these kinds
of answers.
But they will be
surface answers.
Look deeper.
Keep searching
until your heart
begins to speak
louder.
Always listen
to your heart,
even if it seems
so subtle that you
have to strain
just to feel some kind
of faint whisper.
It will
become louder.
May it lead you
always.
Amen.
Thank you
for each
precious piece
reflecting
a new story —
this time
from the heart.
Amen
When our bodies
and minds
become tired —
when we can’t see
the bigger picture
just yet,
remind us
of the calm found
within our own hearts.
Help us to hold
and let go of
all that seems to be
too much.
Remind us of the
enduring strength
found in this holding
and letting go
at the same time.
Amen
There is a place
in my heart
where peace exists.
Whatever is
around me,
however I am feeling,
there is peace
here —
even now.
— Laurie, What’s Right Here
I honor
all that is
unfolding.
And I hold
this space
where there is
nothing
to be sorted out
or healed.
Amen
Perhaps the most
beautiful part
of transformation
is knowing
the place of
in-between —
that first intimate,
still moment
of remembrance
that these are
tender times —
right here,
when no thought
of some distant goal
appears sweeter
and all past memories
take on the taste
of that one moment
of purity
forever.
