It’s the stillness
I return to,
where thought arises
in the moment,
taking on
a deeper meaning,
beyond thinking —
where each part
flows into the next,
and I am whole.
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
It’s the stillness
I return to,
where thought arises
in the moment,
taking on
a deeper meaning,
beyond thinking —
where each part
flows into the next,
and I am whole.
There were the most
tender moments
of deep connection.
And there were moments
that were painful
beyond description.
Somehow, I found,
it all returned
to tenderness.
And so I continued
to show up
and participate in life
because I had experienced
the endless struggle
in the search
and the relief in finding
just one word
shared out of this place
that could bridge the gap
in my own heart.
Let us be
brave enough
to continue to follow
the path of our hearts,
the whisper of hope —
that mysterious pull
to search and explore
and feel the story
beneath the surface —
no longer out of the need
to be fixed
or to fix,
but because we have
felt that longing
in our chests
and dared
to set it down —
to feel the emptiness
in our hands,
if only for a moment.
Help us to trust
in our own ability
to hold this life
a little more gently —
to be willing
to continue on
in each moment —
as a prayer.
Amen
Give us strength
to hold our ground
in our hearts.
If ever there was
a need for such strength,
it is surely now.
Help us to remember
what it feels like
to listen
from this place —
to filter out
what is most true —
that we will
always find our way.
Amen
One day
I looked inside,
expecting to see
the desperate searching,
the longing to fit,
the crying out
and pushing down –
the one who struggled
to piece it all together.
But on this day,
I found none of it.
I realized I had it
backwards before.
All of these pieces
weren’t really meant
to fit neatly together
at all.
They were meant
to be free.
For the times
when we feel
unable to hold
all of the pieces
of our hearts alone,
remind us of the purity
of a love forgotten
and longed for —
the love that holds
and breathes
life into all things
as a prayer
and trusts us
to hold these
precious pieces
of itself.
Amen
Healing my own heart
was a subtle shift,
an honoring
of what was there,
a light holding
and letting go —
a gentle transformation
into a new perspective
of what was already.
Let us remember
the natural way
all things appear,
transform,
and fade.
Remind us to
hold each other
lightly —
that we may remember
the gentle way
of our own hearts.
Amen
Let us remember
the magical power
of words
shared freely
from the heart —
the gentle, mysterious pull
that awakens souls,
transforms human struggles
into quiet prayers,
and carries all things
safely back
as the most precious treasures.
Amen
I set out to share
my own story
in my own way,
dropping the details
little by little —
until all that remained
was the most sacred layer —
the sacred journey
into the heart.
And so I entered
this state of prayer
and found my deepest comfort
where I had been
afraid to look.
