I hold this space
in my heart,
this once forgotten place,
in honor
of all that is gentle
and soft
and all that is mysterious
and unloved –
knowing that,
in this place,
nothing else is needed.
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
I hold this space
in my heart,
this once forgotten place,
in honor
of all that is gentle
and soft
and all that is mysterious
and unloved –
knowing that,
in this place,
nothing else is needed.
I loosened my grip
on what was
appearing on the surface,
focusing on the clear space
within my heart.
And this space seemed
to grow —
until there was
nothing else.
When life got noisy,
I learned to turn around
and focus
on the clear space
within,
honoring your journey
and mine,
as we continued
as both wholeness
and unfolding healing
and grace.
I learned to be
in the world
as both human
and healer,
letting go a little more
of the need for labels
and tightly held concepts,
no longer needing
the outer world
to understand
or validate
what I had found
through focusing
within my heart —
never losing the natural essence
of my own unique expression
or the place where we are
the same.
In honor of the sacred journey back to our true essence.

At times,
the path seemed
to unfold slowly.
But it always returned me
to the quiet joy
in the unfolding
and my willingness
to continue on —
as a prayer.
When the world
becomes noisy
and I can’t fit
all of the pieces together,
I will stand still
in my heart.
And I will find comfort,
knowing I am held
with love.
I found a little magic
in the parts
of me
I kept hidden within
my deepest heart.
And so I kept
my focus there —
just to see
what would happen.
I found I could,
in any moment,
reset to the quiet
within.
And all of the pieces
of my heart began
to trust and return
to the natural flow
of love remembered.
I held on
to the whispers
from my heart
and to the parts
of me
that had struggled
and searched so long
for a gentler way.
And though the time came
when I could have let go,
I held them
a little closer,
a little lighter —
in honor of the journey.
All of the pieces
of my heart
were quieted —
just enough
so that I could
hear my own true voice
and be free.
