Help me to hold
what is here
with love —
to meet this moment
with honor
and grace,
the kind of grace
that allows
all that has been
too painful
or too much
to naturally transform itself
back into
its purest form.
Amen
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
Help me to hold
what is here
with love —
to meet this moment
with honor
and grace,
the kind of grace
that allows
all that has been
too painful
or too much
to naturally transform itself
back into
its purest form.
Amen
There is peace
in all that is here —
refusing to be
packaged up neatly,
honored to be
as it is.
— Laurie, What’s Right Here
When I reach the the edge
of the known,
when I can’t see
past the very next move,
I will stand still
in my heart.
And I will continue on —
for I have held
the most
precious treasures
where the purity
of love needed
to stand in that place
is enough.
I believe
in the power
of pure love
and transformation.
I choose to follow
the path
of my heart
and stand
in the fire
of my soul.
— Laurie, What’s Right Here
For a while,
I followed the endless
promises of another
way out
of pain and longings —
only to be caught
in cycles
of up and down
and forward
and back.
And so I began
to follow the pieces
of me
that could lead
in a different way —
calming and evolving
with each small surrender
and bit of courage
to keep showing up
as healer
of my own heart.
For a time,
I seemed to lose
the sacred ground
of my deepest heart,
the place where
subtle knowing
is heard louder
than words.
What a beautiful discovery
to look back
and know
this place as me.
Finally there was
no more path —
except to turn around
and stand still
in my heart.
— Laurie, from earlier notes
Because I had tired
of the endless searching,
I dared to go
to the edge —
past the pieces
I had tried to fit
together and arrange,
beyond the chaos
on the surface
and below,
not giving up,
not waiting for
one more minute
or one more
reason to turn back —
determined to
find my way
to the very center
of my heart
in that very moment —
where there was calm.
In the calmest part
of my heart,
that which
in all the shattering
couldn’t be broken,
there is solace —
here.
— Laurie, What’s Right Here
There is a
quiet connection
in the stillness
of my heart —
a peace containing
all emotions
and yet only love.
