I declare a truce,
a respite,
a little space
for healing —
here,
in the stillness
of my heart.

Quiet Reflections and Prayers
I declare a truce,
a respite,
a little space
for healing —
here,
in the stillness
of my heart.
— Laurie, Heart Space
It was neccesary
to find
space for healing
in my own heart.
And so there was
a quieting,
a sinking down —
a leaping past
old triggers and
thoughts
for a moment
so that I could
turn around
and walk through
all that was in need
of healing
from a different direction —
out of silence.
Perhaps the most
beautiful part
of transformation
is knowing
the place of
in-between —
that first intimate,
still moment
of remembrance
that these are
tender times —
right here,
when no thought
of some distant goal
appears sweeter
and all past memories
take on the taste
of that one moment
of purity
forever.

I know it is
possible to stay
firmly planted
in my heart,
even as past pain
and intense emotions
are being transformed.
May we always find
strength
and the effortless place
of calm
within our deepest hearts —
no matter what
is playing out
on the surface.
May all that is present
be honored.
Amen
From a quiet prayer,
having been embraced
by my own
inner healer,
the background
began to shift
ever so gently
to the foreground.
All the noise
that had once sent
my heart searching
for healing
settled down.
And there was peace
within
and around me.
I found it is
possible to heal
our own hearts,
not by our own efforting,
but by our willingness
to find
the place within
ourselves and each other
where all is embraced
and released
and by daring to stand
in this place
without understanding,
without knowing how.
When the world
around us
becomes noisy,
when parts of us
have forgotten
the sacred space
from which
we started,
remind us
to hold this space
a little tighter.
Lead us gently back
to quiet places
and safe arms —
that we may be
the healers
and sacred guardians
that we are.
Amen
…
May these words be joined with others.
I found peace
in the reconnection
with the space
within my own heart
and in the natural way
I continued on
to connect
and hold this space
for others.
Healing became
a sacred honor.
I found peace
in reconnecting with
what it really meant
to be alive.
I began to do my part
without a guarantee
or need
for a particular result.
The very act of holding
and honoring
became the focus.
It was in this place
that I found
my deepest comfort
and healing.
