Quiet Reflections and Prayers
Life became
more of a natural,
organic process.
Figuring every step
and knowing
exactly how
to do it
was replaced with
quiet joy picked up
somewhere
in the exploration,
the delicate
innate ability to
trade in confusion
for a search for
tenderness
and the magic
of unexpected treasures
found along the way.
There’s a tender
kind of humility
that comes out of
finding one’s own
deepest beating heart
and vowing to heal it
at that very core —
no matter what happens
on the surface —
because it is seen
that to make any kind
of lasting difference
it simply must
be done.
Words like should
and never no longer
apply.
In fact, all words
fail to express
the view
on the way back
up.
Having been led
by this quiet prayer,
there was an even
deeper quieting
as I began to see
more clearly
from this place.
The change was so
beautiful and subtle
as everything that no longer
resonated
simply dissolved
into quiet awe —
a million words and none —
all at once.
I return
in stillness
and in honor
of what is always
and only
right here,
seemingly distant,
yet instantly close —
so blindingly beautiful
that I would sit
forever —
just to hear
one more sweet whisper
of truth.

It’s the stillness
I return to,
where thought arises
in the moment,
taking on
a deeper meaning,
beyond thinking —
where each part
flows into the next,
and I am whole.
I wish to reflect
all that is soft,
to offer my love
to all that is not —
to remind us
of the sacredness
of the journey
and the beauty
in the transformation.

For a time,
I seemed to lose
the sacred ground
of my deepest heart,
the place where
subtle knowing
is heard louder
than words.
What a beautiful discovery
to look back
and know
this place as me.
I return
in silent reverence
to this quiet place
tucked away within
my heart,
where there is sadness,
where there is pain —
pain that can’t be labeled
or spoken —
tears left behind in
exchange for
the longing to return —
knowing the power
of standing still
and the sacredness
of the journey back.
