I wish to reflect
all that is soft,
to offer my love
to all that is not —
to remind us
of the sacredness
of the journey
and the beauty
in the transformation.

Quiet Reflections and Prayers
I wish to reflect
all that is soft,
to offer my love
to all that is not —
to remind us
of the sacredness
of the journey
and the beauty
in the transformation.
— Laurie, What’s Right Here
Give us strength
to stand firm,
to reach for what is
most true,
to find security
not in the things
we have been shown
to grasp,
but in our deepest core —
returning to our
natural place —
trusting those who have
made the trip before us —
reaching for others’ hands —
reaching ahead and behind,
gathering more strength
so that we may do
what we came to do
and share what we came
to share
as healers of our
own hearts.
Amen
I began to listen
to life —
to show up
and listen
to what was around me,
perhaps as our ancestors
once listened —
before all the noise.
And so I began
to listen
a little more deeply —
not analyzing each sound,
but waiting for the music
to continue,
noticing my own part
within in it
and outside of it.
And I couldn’t imagine
it being any other way.
And so I entered
a state of prayer —
each time a little
more fully
as life continued,
as I continued on
within its mysterious dance —
as thoughts
and feelings appeared
as movements in some
forgotten symphony —
arranging themselves
and landing again
in the most
beautiful silence
that no one movement
could express.
May we come together
in this moment —
stepping outside
all the places
where we feel small
or wounded —
that we may see
from a higher place
and acknowledge our struggles,
no matter how small
or great —
remembering our true power
as wholeness —
uniting together
from this truer place
where there is
natural connection
and trust —
where there is true
and lasting healing —
finding courage
to show up
as our truest selves.
Amen
There were times
when the absolute best
I could do
was take the very next
needed step in trust
that the next
would appear
just as needed —
just as it had
always been.
And in-between these
small leaps of faith,
the voices of doubt grew
so much quieter
that I found myself
straining to hear —
as if their presence
could offer
any real security.
Funny, I had thought
they did.
When we have searched,
gathered and dropped
every word
we had thought
to carry back,
when all that
is left
upon our return
is the silence
in our hearts
because we have
both given up
and found our Love,
I will gather
the words again
for you.
I have gathered thoughts
and tossed them
many times —
following the words
again and again
all the way back
to silence.
I have waited patiently
for insight —
only to watch it fade.
I have gone
my own way,
taken each step
as a part
of the mystery.
I have gotten lost
and found
many treasures.
I have traced my
own Self
back to nothing.
And I am
still here.
Thank you for each heart
that has answered
the call of Love,
showing up in a world
of great suffering
and great beauty,
being exposed
to all if it —
often intensely.
Thank you for each
quiet prayer
from each human soul
holding a sacred space
because the choice
was made
to look inside
or to reach out
for answers,
to do what was required —
to make this
sacred journey into the heart.
Thank you
for being here.
Amen
For the times
when there is
much emotion,
when challenges
have piled up
and the surface reflection
shows only separateness,
when we don’t know
where to start
to put the pieces together,
when we can’t see
the whole story,
may we find comfort,
knowing we are creating
a new draft,
participating a little
more fully —
letting go a little more
of needing it to go
a certain way —
writing this time
with our hearts.
Amen
