When there is
much to sort through,
when we can’t see
where to start,
let us begin
in surrender
to all that is
most healed
in our own hearts.
And may we find
comfort in knowing,
that somehow,
within this great mystery,
we belong
to each other.
Amen
Quiet Reflections and Prayers
When there is
much to sort through,
when we can’t see
where to start,
let us begin
in surrender
to all that is
most healed
in our own hearts.
And may we find
comfort in knowing,
that somehow,
within this great mystery,
we belong
to each other.
Amen
I began to listen
to the silence
and to the music
of life —
of notes and pauses —
finding refuge in
the silent spaces
and comfort in
words that flowed out
if I was patient
to wait my turn —
holding and letting go
ever so lightly —
in-between.
Give us strength
to stand firm,
to reach for what is
most true,
to find security
not in the things
we have been shown
to grasp,
but in our deepest core —
returning to our
natural place —
trusting those who have
made the trip before us —
reaching for others’ hands —
reaching ahead and behind,
gathering more strength
so that we may do
what we came to do
and share what we came
to share
as healers of our
own hearts.
Amen
Words appear
out of the desire
to somehow reflect
the complete surrender
of trying
to express and comprehend
the unspoken connection
to the natural source
of peace
within my heart
and yours.
But my prayers have
no words at all.
Let us reach
into the place within
our own hearts
where there is
pure intention —
that others will be
encouraged by our example —
reaching for
true compassion and love
over all else.
Amen
And so I entered
a state of prayer —
each time a little
more fully
as life continued,
as I continued on
within its mysterious dance —
as thoughts
and feelings appeared
as movements in some
forgotten symphony —
arranging themselves
and landing again
in the most
beautiful silence
that no one movement
could express.
Thank you for each heart
that has answered
the call of Love,
showing up in a world
of great suffering
and great beauty,
being exposed
to all if it —
often intensely.
Thank you for each
quiet prayer
from each human soul
holding a sacred space
because the choice
was made
to look inside
or to reach out
for answers,
to do what was required —
to make this
sacred journey into the heart.
Thank you
for being here.
Amen
For the times
when there is
much emotion,
when challenges
have piled up
and the surface reflection
shows only separateness,
when we don’t know
where to start
to put the pieces together,
when we can’t see
the whole story,
may we find comfort,
knowing we are creating
a new draft,
participating a little
more fully —
letting go a little more
of needing it to go
a certain way —
writing this time
with our hearts.
Amen
Let me be
the natural peace
within my own heart,
honoring all that is
most true in me
and in you —
holding my ground
where I am
most healed.
Let all that is
in me
and all of my experiences
in the world
reflect this peace
in this moment
and the next.
Amen
When there is much
to sort through,
when we are tempted
to contract —
to pick up old habits
of playing small,
remind us
of the wholeness
we are.
Show us the tenderness
at our core
and right in front of us.
Give us courage
to be this space
of wholeness,
unfolding simultaneously
in these human forms.
Thank you.
Amen
