Quiet Reflections and Prayers
Thank you
for each
precious piece
reflecting
a new story —
this time
from the heart.
Amen
It was neccesary
to find
space for healing
in my own heart.
And so there was
a quieting,
a sinking down —
a leaping past
old triggers and
thoughts
for a moment
so that I could
turn around
and walk through
all that was in need
of healing
from a different direction —
out of silence.
For a while
I wondered
what it would
be like to be okay
no matter what,
to no longer need
to manipulate
this life
by force.
And this wondering,
as all things held
with pure intent,
naturally
transformed itself —
becoming the realization
that it is already so.
After a while,
it was most natural
to be the space
beyond words,
that strangely familiar place
where thought formed
out of nothingness
as quiet prayers
once known only
as far-away whispers
triggering some long-forgotten
memory of a time
when I was not
separate from the space
within my heart.
As I look back
on my own story,
I can’t miss
the synchronistic
lining up of events
and people
and my own determination
to remain
firmly planted
in my deepest heart
no matter what.
There was a tenderness
in returning
to the quiet place
in our hearts,
a bittersweet
vow to honor
and release
all that had been
denied
and pushed down
or covered up —
when what had
been seen as
so obvious
in the heart
could not be communicated
on the surface,
not directly,
and my own deepest pain
became triggered.
And so the challenge
became holding
all I knew
to be sacred,
no matter how
it appeared on
the surface —
reaching and joining
with others
who longed to find
a way to continue
to stand
in our hearts
and in a healing world —
holding a space
of compassion
beyond understanding
and finding a gentler way
for us all.
I found
life wasn’t quite as
black and white
as I had thought.
I found love wasn’t
about covering up
or fixing.
Somehow,
peace wasn’t
some distant goal
to be achieved,
and the most
loving thing
often meant allowing
myself and others
to be gently guided
through the tender places
that remained
unhealed.
đŸ’™
I found it is
possible to heal
our own hearts,
not by our own efforting,
but by our willingness
to find
the place within
ourselves and each other
where all is embraced
and released
and by daring to stand
in this place
without understanding,
without knowing how.
When the world
around us
becomes noisy,
when parts of us
have forgotten
the sacred space
from which
we started,
remind us
to hold this space
a little tighter.
Lead us gently back
to quiet places
and safe arms —
that we may be
the healers
and sacred guardians
that we are.
Amen
…
May these words be joined with others.
