Quiet Reflections and Prayers
Sometimes it’s nice
to show up
as I am —
to meet others
as they are —
to toss my thoughts
and wait
for them to come
back down
a little more gently —
to hold a space
for just the kind
of love
that doesn’t need
a continuous narration
or specific way
to be.
I hold this space
in honor
of all that is
being worked out,
softened,
and transformed
by this mysterious love
of which we are a part.

I found there were
places along the
winding path
of my heart
that remained
unsorted.
It was these unresolved
pieces of my own story
that I came to honor
as doorways
into the mysterious —
the place where words
couldn’t go
and only the purest love
was felt
in their place.
And so every thought,
every experience,
every memory began
to soften.
All that I experienced
seemed to be touched
by the purity of love
I had held
within my deepest heart.
And I found it had
always been this way —
love reaching back
for itself.
I began to filter life
in a gentler way,
holding and honoring
moments as they unfolded,
shifted and transformed
into the next.
This motion
of deep reverence
and unconditional love
became my unspoken,
continuous prayer —
sure footing
in a world in the midst
of its own deepest healing.
Let us reach
into the place within
our own hearts
where there is
pure intention —
that others will be
encouraged by our example —
reaching for
true compassion and love
over all else.

When we have searched,
gathered and dropped
every word
we had thought
to carry back,
when all that
is left
upon our return
is the silence
in our hearts
because we have
both given up
and found our Love,
I will gather
the words again
for you.
Help me to hold
what is here
with love —
to meet this moment
with honor
and grace,
the kind of grace
that allows
all that has been
too painful
or too much
to naturally transform itself
back into
its purest form.
